Adversity creates opportunity, and it was one Issy Bacon took with both hands on Sunday in an important career growth opportunity for the young Tiger.

With star midfielders Monique Conti and Ellie McKenzie sidelined with injury, the 21-year-old Bacon notched a career and game-high 24 disposals, six clearances and four tackles in the loss to the Dockers, with 11 of those touches coming in the first quarter alone.

She also had three score involvements, 10 contested possessions and polled five Coaches' Votes, proving she is a viable option to step in and make an impact in the midfield.

"That means a lot to me, actually. Being a ball winner, using my strengths, not being so defensive," Bacon said when she learned of her career-high disposal count.

"I didn't know I had 24 [disposals]. [I tried] taking the game on and driving legs."

Bacon was clearly the best for the Tigers in Round 4, but knows that it takes a complete team performance to get the Club back on the winners list.

With St Kilda the next opponent for the 2-2 Tigers, it's the perfect opportunity for Bacon and the midfield group to grow, and show the same signs as they did in wins against Collingwood and Essendon.

"It comes down to consistency throughout the whole game...playing our way, stepping in...using our strengths on the open side to attack the ball and put speed on ball to generate a lot of inside-50s," she said.
