Steely Green, Oliver Hayes-Brown

Richmond Football Club has informed players Oliver Hayes-Brown and Steely Green that they will not be offered contracts for the 2027 season.

Green has been on Richmond’s list for the past four seasons after he was selected with pick No. 55 overall at the 2022 AFL Draft.

The 22-year-old played 20 games this season, booting 16 goals and averaging 2.2 tackles per match.

Green featured 45 times at senior level after initially earning his debut midway through his second season in 2024.

Hayes-Brown signed on at Richmond as a Category B Rookie from basketball in September 2023 and spent the maximum three-year period listed under that mechanism.

The 208cm ruckman showed strong development across his first two seasons in the VFL and was rewarded with an AFL debut this year.

Hayes-Brown featured seven times at AFL level in 2026, averaging 9.8 disposals and 11 hit-outs per game.

Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley thanked the pair for their efforts during their time at the Club.

“It is always difficult to make these decisions and unfortunately we were unable to offer a list spot for Steely and Ollie,” Hartley said.

“Both worked incredibly hard across their time at the Club. We wish them well for the future.”
