Richmond captain Trent Cotchin made a solid return to the playing field for what was just his sixth game this season, and third since Round 3, against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium yesterday.

Cotchin, who had been battling a nagging hamstring complaint, finished the match with 19 disposals, five inside-50s, four clearances and three tackles.

And, in trademark, inspirationally tenacious style, he constantly threw himself into the fray in a bid to lift the Tigers.

“I probably won’t be saying this tomorrow, or the day after, but it’s nice to get the body hit a few times . . . those knocks that you wake up the next morning not knowing that you really had,” Cotchin told K rock Football in a post-match interview.

“I just love being a part of this group, particularly on-field.

“It’s the best place to be when you’re playing . . .

“You’re a long time retired. Hopefully I’ve got a fair few games left in me.”
