The Richmond Football Club is proud to announce the renewal of Metro Solar as the Club’s Sustainability Sponsor, and naming rights sponsor of Roar Vision.

Metro Solar formed its partnership with the Tigers in the middle of 2013, and the renewal will extend the relationship until at least the end of 2016.

Richmond CEO Brendon Gale said he was proud of what the partnership had achieved in only a short time.

“The installation of the solar system at the ME Bank Centre has reinforced Richmond’s position as leaders in sustainability in the AFL, and we look forward to next two years of our partnership,” he said.

Metro Solar is a family owned business which has become an innovator in the solar industry, bringing new, smarter and higher generating solar technology to the market.

At the start of 2014, Metro installed a 399 panel system on to the roof of the ME Bank Centre, making Richmond one of the first AFL clubs to go green.

Metro Solar CEO Anthony O’Connell said:  “We’re proud to assist the Richmond Football Club in becoming greener, and fulfilling our role of giving them energy independence.

“We’re impressed by Richmond’s commitment to the community, as well as the opportunity to empower the Club’s strong supporter base, and broader Australian public to take ‘the energy problem’ into their own hands and solve it in an affordable, sustainable and eco-friendly way.”
