Richmond has brought talented, tall, key-position player Ben Griffiths into its side for Saturday’s Round 9 clash with Hawthorn at the MCG.

It will be the first AFL game this season for the 200cm, 100kg, 20-year-old, following a frustrating run with injuries.

Griffiths last played for Richmond in Round 18, 2011, against Geelong at Etihad Stadium.

He’s been included in the Tiger line-up this week along with another key ‘tall’ in Ty Vickery, who has recovered from a calf strain that sidelined him for two matches.

The pair replaces Dylan Grimes, who is out with a hamstring injury, and Brad Miller, who has been omitted.

Richmond’s three emergencies for Saturday afternoon’s game are Miller, Matthew White and Addam Maric.
