The five West Australian members of Richmond’s 2020 premiership team – Liam Baker, Shai Bolton, Nathan Broad, Kamdyn McIntosh and Marlion Pickett – were the most recruited by the Club from the same state outside Victoria to play in the same Tigers’ flag side.

Baker (from WAFL clubs West Perth and Subiaco), Bolton (South Fremantle), Broad (Swan Districts)  and Pickett (South Fremantle), who had played together in the 2019 Richmond premiership team, were joined this year by McIntosh (Peel Thunder), a 2017 premiership player.

The triumphant 2020 Tigers team also contained two players from South Australia – Shane Edwards and Jack Graham – two from Tasmania – Jack Riewoldt and Toby Nankervis – and one from the Northern Territory – Daniel Rioli.

In terms of the most South Australian members of a Richmond premiership line-up, that occurred in 1943 with Jack Broadstock (West Adelaide), Laurie Cahill (South Adelaide) and Ray Hunt (Glenelg and West Adelaide).

As for the record number of Tasmanians in the same Tigers’ premiership side, that was in 1973 – Royce Hart (Clarence), Ian Stewart (Hobart), Paul Sproule (Hobart) and Noel Carter (Ulverstone).
