Jack Ross prepares to enter the field of play in last Thursday night's win over Carlton.

Jack Ross joined an exclusive group of Richmond players in last Thursday night’s season-opener against Carlton at the MCG.

The talented, young midfielder became the 31st substitute player in Tigerland history, and the first since the end of season 2015, when the AFL initially scrapped the rule, before recently reintroducing it.

Richmond’s last substitute that year was Reece Conca, in the elimination final loss to North Melbourne.

Speedy wingman Matt White wore the green vest as the Tigers’ substitute, under the previous system, the most times. He was the team’s ‘sub’ nine times, one ahead of Nathan Foley, Nathan Gordon and Brett O’Hanlon.
