    Tigers lose pace with Lions

Brisbane used an electric second half to run past Richmond on Sunday afternoon.

Ally Anderson has celebrated her 100-game AFLW milestone in grand style, sparking a third-quarter comeback to lift Brisbane to a 34-point win over Richmond.

The winless Tigers threatened to cause the biggest boilover of the season when they opened up an eight-point lead early in the third quarter of Sunday's match.

Brisbane had kicked just one goal up to that point, but Anderson simply refused to let the game get away on her milestone day in front of an adoring crowd at Brighton Homes Arena.

Anderson's quick snap sparked a run of six unanswered goals as the Lions ran all over the top of Richmond to secure the 7.12 (54) to 3.2 (20) win.

It capped a special weekend for Brisbane following the Lions' 47-point AFL Grand Final win over Geelong the previous day.

Brisbane improved its record to 4-3, while Richmond is 0-7 and faces a battle to avoid the wooden spoon.

    05:54

Anderson tallied 21 disposals, seven score involvements, five tackles, three clearances and a goal.

But it was her efforts in the third quarter, when she racked up nine disposals, a goal and a goal assist, that helped turn the match.

Both sides struggled for fluency in a goalless opening quarter, with numerous chances wasted due to poor skill errors.

    04:05

Brisbane star Courtney Hodder broke the goal drought with six minutes remaining in the first half.

But the Tigers replied in style, with Caitlin Greiser and Montana Beruldsen nailing goals within a minute of each other to give Richmond a shock two-point lead at halftime.

Ellie McKenzie was gifted a goal via a 50m penalty early in the third quarter, handing the Tigers a 20-12 lead.

    02:12

But Anderson's clever snap sparked a flurry of four Brisbane goals in the space of 11 minutes, giving them a 20-point lead heading into the final quarter.

The Lions added two goals to nil in the final term to seal the win and spark wild celebrations.

Richmond hosts Adelaide at its temporary home of Ikon Park on Sunday.
