Footage of Richmond Reserves’ 1972 finals campaign has been digitised and donated to the club archives by former Senior player Tony Smith.

The seven minutes of silent footage shows Richmond Reserves v Melbourne Reserves on September 9, 1972 at the MCG, in the club’s first ever Qualifying Final.

Melbourne 11.15.81 def Richmond 10.6.68, despite the Tigers leading by 29 points at quarter time.

Goalkickers for Richmond were:

Grant Allford 2, Laurie Fowler 1, Anthony Hunt 1, Graham Gaunt 1, Dale Carroll 1, Tony Smith 1, David Gurney 1, Peter Cloke 1, Russell Jenkinson 1.
