Richmond assistant coach, Justin Leppitsch and development coach, Xavier Clarke will coach the Tigers’ AFLX team for their tournament in Sydney on February 17.

The Tigers had their first taste of AFLX, the League’s newest version of Australian Football after playing in a practice match against Hawthorn on the weekend.

The Tigers took a squad of 14 players to Waverley Park for the friendly hit out against the Hawks on Saturday morning, to familiarise players and coaches with the rules and format of the new, fast-paced version of the game.

Richmond’s AFLX team will face GWS and Brisbane Lions in the tournament at Allianz Stadium.

The AFLX tournaments will feature lots of action with fireworks, DJs, in game commentary, roving performers, kids and family zones and giveaways.
