Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Sunday's Round 8 match against the Box Hill Hawks.

Thomson Dow (23 disposals, 11 clearances, seven inside-50s)

"Stood out in his clearance work. He probably needs to use his feet a little bit more, but it was a solid game from him."

05:57

Ben Miller (23 disposals, six marks, seven rebound-50s, one goal)

"It was sensational to see Ben really start to demand the footy, and we saw how well he uses it. He had a great first half on the day."

Jack Ross (22 disposals, four clearances, four rebound-50s, one goal)

"I thought Jack's attack on the contest was a standout on the day. He was the one who really set the tone in this space."

00:18

Hugo Ralphsmith (22 disposals, five rebound-50s, two inside-50s)

"His run and carry was very good at times. Our back six were a bit loose on their opponents so we'll look to tighten that up this weekend."

Lachlan Street (22 disposals, six marks, eight rebound-50s)

"Once again, he was solid enough down back but we're looking for an improvement in his defensive work this week."

Bailey Henderson (20 disposals, five marks, one goal)

"In really good form at the moment. He was clean with the footy for the majority of the day and impacted both in the air and in contest at ground level."

Riley Collier-Dawkins (19 disposals, six marks, six tackles)

"Had a sensational first half, in particular his first quarter. I thought he led the way with his tackle pressure, and it was great to see him drive his legs and take the opposition on throughout the day."

William Martyn (18 disposals, five marks, four rebound-50s)

"I thought he won the footy back well for us, we'll just be looking for him to improve the defensive side of his game down back. But the day will prove to be a really good learning experience for him."

Matt Parker (18 disposals, five marks, four tackles, one goal)

"Tried his backside off. I thought he supported our defence really well on the wing and he kicked a really nice goal as well."

Samson Ryan (16 disposals, 37 hit-outs, five clearances)

"Battled really hard on the day and led the hit-outs quite convincingly. He needs to tidy up some of his free kicks through technique, but he's progressing really well as a ruckman against some tough opposition of late."

Sam Banks (15 disposals, two inside-50s, two marks)

"We love to see him take the game on. He probably didn't get quite as many opportunities on the weekend on the smaller ground but his speed does stand out."

Tyler Sonsie (14 disposals, five marks, three inside-50s)

"A really great opportunity for Tyler to learn. He was given a fair bit of attention from the opposition and it was important to see him work through that. He didn't have a huge influence on the day but we'll be looking for him to bounce back."

Judson Clarke (14 disposals, four inside-50s, three clearances)

"I thought Judson's ball use on the day really stood out. He continues to play his role well. His field kicking was brilliant and he had another solid game."

Jake Aarts (13 disposals, five marks, three inside-50s, one goal)

"He was a real focal point for us up forward, he looked really dangerous up there. He copped a heavy collision and fought through that to come back on and play his role for the team."

Noah Cumberland (13 disposals, four marks, three goals)

"Another player that was involved in a strong collision. Offensively, he was very good on the day, he can do things that many players can't. I'm really looking forward to seeing a strong improvement in the defensive side of his game, which we know he's capable of."

00:48

Sydney Stack (12 disposals, three marks, two inside-50s)

"Probably didn't have his best day, but I'd be looking for him to bounce back strongly because he's been in good form as of late."

01:04

Robbie Tarrant (10 disposals, two marks, two rebound-50s)

"He had a really different mindset in terms of his ball use and that helped our offense. He was a really solid contributor down back in the first half, but finished up at half-time in preparation for coming weeks."

Austin Johnson (nine disposals, two rebound-50s)

"Was trialled across half-back. He's been in great form on the wing but we just wanted to see if he could provide some run and carry on the day. I'm looking forward to seeing him bounce back to the great form he's been in."

Angus Hicks (eight disposals, three marks)

"Angus plays his role well and runs good patterns. Sometimes small forwards don't get used often on some days, and that was one of those."

Cam Olden (eight disposals, five marks, two inside-50s)

"Looked really dangerous in the air. As a small forward, sometimes you don't get many opportunities and you really do need to capitalise on those. His aerial work for a small forward is outstanding and he should have finished with a couple of goals."

Tyler Young (seven disposals, three marks, seven hit-outs, one goal)

"It was good to see Tyler fight through some adversity after an ankle injury in the first half, and come out and attempt to play his role for the team. Hopefully he can recover in time to play the Bombers this week."

Tom Brown (six disposals, two marks)

"He didn't have his best day but we have all seen what he is capable of doing and I'm really confident that he will bounce back this weekend and have a great impact for us."

Sam Tucker (four disposals, two tackles)

"It was a tough day for tall forwards but he showed what he was capable of with a really impressive contested grab, but these were few and far between on the day."
