Damien Hardwick’s recent contract extension at Richmond means that in a couple of years’ time (all being well), he will move into third place on the Club’s all-time list for most league games as coach.

Hardwick has coached the Tigers in 89 matches during his four seasons at the helm.

Given he’s now contracted until the end of 2016, he will have at least 133 games under his coaching belt by that time (and hopefully a few more, with finals).

Richmond’s 1934 premiership coach Percy Bentley is currently in third place on the Club’s all-time coaching games’ list, with 133.

Four-time premiership coach and Tiger ‘Immortal’, Tommy Hafey’, heads the list, with 248 games, while fellow Immortal, Jack Dyer, is second, on 226 games.

The Tigers’ 1932 premiership coach, Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes, is in fourth place (120 games), with 1980 premiership coach, Tony Jewell, and Danny Frawley in equal-fifth position (113 games apiece).

Dan Minogue, who coached Richmond to its inaugural league football premiership in 1920, is in seventh spot (105 games).
