Richmond’s investment in veteran key defender Robbie Tarrant is paying good dividends.

Tarrant, recruited by the Tigers from North Melbourne in last year’s AFL trade period, has been a valuable addition to the Yellow and Black line-up.

His performance against Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium last Saturday was one of the positives for the team in the two-point loss.

He had 14 disposals, a game-high 10 intercepts, game-high 13 one-percenters and took five marks.

Most importantly, he kept his opponent, strong Suns key forward Levi Casboult, goalless.

It was the latest in a string of strong showings by Tarrant, who has utilised his vast experience at the game’s highest level to curb the opposition’s power forwards.
