Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Saturday's two-point win over North Melbourne at Arden Street Oval.

05:27

Matt Parker (27 disposals, seven inside-50s, six tackles, six marks)

"Based his game on work-rate. He had a few really important contests in the last quarter and was a big reason why we were able to win the game in a tight one."

Lachlan Street (27 disposals, eight clearances, three goals, 10 hit-outs)

"Led the way, it was an outstanding captain's performance. He hit the scoreboard, won contested ball, competed all day and was an absolute stand-out."

00:46

Tom Brown (26 disposals, nine rebound-50s, three marks, three inside-50s)

"He's going from strength to strength. He continues to grow each and every week. His offensive game has improved significantly and there's definitely some areas in his defence that we're seeing great growth in as well."

Riley Collier-Dawkins (25 disposals, six clearances, five inside-50s, one goal)

"I think it was his best game in a month. He was outstanding in the contest, had 13 contested possessions and certainly kicked the goal of the day in difficult conditions, it was an absolute beauty."

Jason Castagna (24 disposals, seven clearances, four tackles)

"Had a really good day in and around the contest. We used him as a mid to try and get his hands on the footy, and he clearly stood out in the contested areas of the game with 13 contested ball. He took a really important mark in our backline as well."

Sam Banks (20 disposals, six inside-50s, four marks, one goal)

"Kicked as good as goal as you'll see. He's a really smart player who does the team thing and and runs really good patterns. We're a better team when he's got the ball in his hands."

Rhyan Mansell (18 disposals, five rebound-50s, five marks)

"Didn't have quite as much of the ball as he's had in previous weeks, but I thought he was really influential, particularly in the last quarter when the game was there to be won. He's a player that the boys really enjoy running out alongside."

William Martyn (17 disposals, six rebound-50s, two marks)

"A solid game from Will without being outstanding. He had some really important contests, and he attacked the footy hard as always."

01:15

Judson Clarke (16 disposals, five inside-50s, four tackles)

"It was good to see him step into the contest, he had a couple of really good tackles as well as contest wins. He had 11 contested possessions, which for a player of his stature really highlights his willingness to get involved in the contest."

Fraser Elliot (15 disposals, five clearances, five inside-50s)

"Only his second game back this season, and I thought he was really good around the ball. He'll continue to learn our structures and the way we play over the coming weeks, but he's a really talented inside-midfielder."

Thomson Dow (13 disposals, two clearances, two rebound-50s)

"Looked really good around stoppage. His challenge is to continue to grow his contest-to-contest running and get involved in our offensive chains. But, he's been really diligent around our stoppage work."

Bailey Henderson (12 disposals, two clearances, two inside-50s)

"Bailey had a solid day. We played him in a different role down back and I think his leadership was important."

Maurice Rioli (11 disposals, three tackles, three score-assists)

"Had a tale of two halves. It was frustrating in the first half, he was playing his role really well, but the ball just wasn't going his way. So, we put him inside in the second half around the footy and he had a really big impact with his pressure which was outstanding, but also his contest wins and composure with the footy."

00:36

Bigoa Nyuon (nine disposals, 20 hit-outs, four marks, one goal)

"He had a really important role for us on the day, playing first ruck for a lot of the day, particularly at the centre bounce. He jumped all over the opposition, gave our midfielders first use of the footy, and took a really impressive mark inside-50."

Nick Guiney (nine disposals, two tackles)

"Really like the way Nick plays. He's starting to play to our system really well. He came forward and really impacted a couple of times, and he's really decisive when he makes defensive decisions. He's a really solid player for us down back."

Misilifi Faimalo (nine disposals, two tackles)

"Had an interesting day. He did some things that very few players can do on the footy field. He displays flashes of absolute brilliance, he's only new to the game and there's so much excitement surrounding him. It's just a matter of continuing to practice for different situations that he'll be faced with on match day, and improving his decision-making, but there's plenty to work with."

Tyler Young (eight disposals, four marks, two rebound-50s)

"Had some really good aerial contests, I thought he was pretty solid. There's a couple of things in terms of our structure and the way we play that he can improve on, but he's certainly strong in the contest."

Jacob Bauer (seven disposals, three marks, one goal)

"It probably wasn't a day for forwards, particularly tall forwards, but he'll work on a couple of things this week and we're looking forward to seeing him bounce back next week."

Jackson Davies (seven disposals, two marks)

"Had a couple of really standout moments where he won important contests and drove his legs really well. He's a very talented player, but he's missed a lot of footy. It will be good to see him get some continuity into his game."

Jack Sexton (seven disposals, two inside-50s)

"He's a really diligent trainer who focuses hard on improving his game. We saw him make some really good decisions along with some decisions we'd like him to improve on. But, he will definitely get better with some time in our system and he's a really important player for us going forward."

Cam Olden (four disposals, one goal)

"Kicked a really good goal. He but didn't have the game impact he'd like but he wasn't alone in terms of our forward line, as North did get a lot of numbers back."

Lachlan Johnson (three disposals, two tackles, two inside-50s)

"Stepped into the side after having not played a lot of footy lately. He's a highly talented player and we're looking for more of an impact from him."

Sam Tucker (two disposals, four tackles)

"Played up against some really talented backs. North's three key backs are extremely experienced and it was a fantastic lesson for him, he'll take a lot out of that experience."
