Talented young Richmond midfielder Reece Conca believes the growing maturity within the playing group, plus increased depth, is resulting in a greater level of consistency from the team.

“We’ve just slowly progressed over the last few years.  We’ve had the same game plan implemented, but with that maturity, we’re playing more consistently week to week,” he told Radio Sport National.

“I think that’s really helped us, and a bit of added depth as well.  We know that guys who are coming back into the side can do their role for the team, and do it well.

“Everyone likes a bit of consistency and I think we’ve just found that little groove.  We’ve just got to keep growing on that.

“We’ve got a bit of confidence as well, which helps win close games and big games, like we did on the weekend.

“I think it’s really going to help us . . .”

Conca, who returned to the Tigers’ line-up against Adelaide at the MCG last Saturday after being sidelined since Round 4 with a foot injury, was a solid contributor, collecting 17 disposals.

“It was just great to run back out there with the guys, and getting a win was an added bonus,” he said.

“I’m just really happy to be back and I’m glad the coaches gave me the opportunity to get back quickly . . .”
