Daniel Rioli on the night he was drafted to Richmond in 2015.

Richmond’s results in the 2015 and 2016 AFL national drafts are now even more impressive due to the arrival at the Club of Jacob Hopper and Tim Taranto from Greater Western Sydney in the recent trade period.

Daniel Rioli was taken at pick 15 overall by the Tigers in the 2015 draft, Oleg Markov at pick 50 and Nathan Broad at pick 67.

Rioli and Broad have become triple Tiger premiership players, while Markov is these days plying his football trade at Gold Coast.

In that same 2015 draft, Hopper was selected by the Giants with their first pick (No. 7 overall).

The following year, Richmond chose Shai Bolton with its first pick, which was No. 29 overall, Jack Graham at pick 53 and Ryan Garthwaite at pick 72.

Bolton and Broad are both dual premiership players with the Tigers, while Garthwaite is now at SANFL club South Adelaide.

Taranto was the second selection overall in the 2016 draft.
