Since Project Stampede was established in 2018 to stamp out poaching, there has been an overall decline of 90% of active snares encountered thanks to intensive patrolling.

Between 2016 and 2022, up to 55,314 kilometres have been covered on foot and 238 active snares deactivated.

The good news is that in 2022, zero snares were encountered.
