Richmond VFL coach Steve Morris provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in Saturday's draw with Geelong at the Swinburne Centre.

James Trezise (29 disposals, 10 marks, six rebound-50s, four tackles)

"Best game for the year for James. He's been improving each week, but I thought he was fantastic defensively. He's an extremely good 1v1 player and won the ball back a number of times for us on the day."

Brad Melville (26 disposals, seven marks, three rebound-50s, one goal)

"I thought he had another outstanding game. He was hard at the footy when he needed to be and he made really good decisions by foot. He's a huge part of our offence."

Tyler Sonsie (23 disposals, five marks, three clearances)

"Bit of a different role for Tyler. He played down back for the majority of the day, whilst taking a number of centre bounces. It's good learning for him and hopefully he takes some steps forward in his defensive game as a result."

Lachlan Street (22 disposals, six tackles, five marks)

"He won the ball really well for us. I'd just like him to improve his decision-making slightly and would like his running from contest-to-contest to improve."

Garrett McDonagh (20 disposals, seven marks, six inside-50s, one goal)

"Garrett had another really good game. Unfortunately, he hurt himself late in the game and it looks like he'll miss an extended period of time which is really disappointing for him. He's had an outstanding season and we wish him all the best in his recovery."

Matt Clarkson (19 disposals, seven marks, two rebound-50s)

"I thought he looked really settled on debut. He came firing out of the blocks with nine disposals in the first quarter and he looked composed and used the ball well."

Jacob Bauer (18 disposals, seven marks, four rebound-50s)

"I'd love to see Jacob increase his intent to defend his direct opponent. At the moment, I feel he's trying to do a little bit too much, which is understandable as we were undersized down back. But, this is a good lesson for him to work through these circumstances."

Fraser Elliot (18 disposals, seven clearances, four inside-50s)

"He gave us a lot inside, leading the team with seven clearances. He went down back late in the game and he looks really composed with ball in hand, the challenge for him is to increase his work-rate off-ball."

Tom Brindley (16 disposals, eight marks, 12 hit-outs, one goal)

"Had another really influential game. His ruck work is outstanding and he kicked another beautiful goal just before three-quarter time to keep us in the game."

Tom Bracher (16 disposals, two tackles, one mark)

"He uses the footy really well. I thought he was a little bit off defensively, as were a lot of our backs on the day, and would love to see him prioritise defence first moving forward."

Sam Banks (13 disposals, four tackles, three rebound-50s)

"I thought he was really good. His leadership down back really did stand out. It was a bit of a new role for him this week moving away from a wing, and I thought he set the boys up well behind the footy. His foot skills and work-rate stood out."

12:36

Cam Olden (13 disposals, three clearances, three marks, one goal)

"He was decent for us in and around the footy, and when he went up forward in the last quarter he had two shots on goal and won a really crucial 50/50 contest that led to another goal."

Billy Cooper (13 disposals, seven marks, four rebound-50s)

"He's had an outstanding start to his VFL career. He's improved incredibly over a short period of time. But, with that comes an increased level of expectation, and I think he fell just short of the defensive level that he's set over previous weeks."

Bigoa Nyuon (12 disposals, 22 hit-outs, three marks, one goal)

"I was really pleased with his game. He work-rate really stood out and he looked huge up forward, providing us a good focal point late in the game which was exciting."

Angus Hicks (12 disposals, four tackles, one goal)

"He could have been used a lot more than he was on the day, as we played a game that was a little bit too straight and didn't bring our width players into the game enough."

00:21

Noah Cumberland (11 disposals, two tackles, three goals)

"Really proud of the way he went about it on the day. His attitude was fantastic, he had a big influence on the match, and we loved the way he invested in his teammates."

00:19

Judson Clarke (10 disposals, four inside-50s, three rebound-50s)

"A really interesting day for Judson. He barely got sighted in the first half, but it was a real credit to him that he stuck tough and had a really influential second half. He really did look like he could have broken the game open late in the game."

Steely Green (10 disposals, five marks, one tackle)

"Another player who didn't get too much reward for the hard work he put in. He's coming along really nicely in that small forward role and it was nice to see him have an influence."

Misilifi Faimalo (eight disposals, five tackles, one mark)

"Loved his pressure on the day. You know that's something you're always going to get and his speed is definitely noticeable. He puts fear into the opposition, we'd just like to see him finish off his work a little bit better."

Harrison White (six disposals, five tackles, one goal)

"A tough day for Harrison to get involved, but he continued to step in and we saw a really beautiful finish from him just before three-quarter time, as we know he's capable of."

Austin Johnson (four disposals, five tackles, one rebound-50)

"A rare quiet day from him. He's one player we can rely on to be consistent, and there's no doubt he'll bounce back next week."

Kaelan Bradtke (three disposals, four tackles, one goal)

"It was a day of nearlys for Kaelan. He got himself into a number of good positions but he couldn't quite hang onto the mark. He could have easily finished with three or four goals, but after a sting out with injury, he'll be better for that run and he'll turn those opportunities into scoreboard pressure next week."

Joel Nathan (three disposals, five tackles, three hit-outs)

"You know what you're going to get from Joel, he battles his backside off for us. It wasn't really his day, but we'll tweak a couple of things and hopefully get a better result next week."
