Richmond Football Club’s Round 19 match against Hawthorn will be themed around raising important funds for the Club’s long-time charity partner, the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

The Club and the Alannah & Madeline Foundation have been working together to help children live free from violence and trauma since 2012, raising close to $1.7 million.

Richmond dedicates a fixture to the charity annually, with fundraising a key focus in the lead-up to the game across the Club’s platforms. Collaborative merchandise and a special membership are also available, with all proceeds going towards the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Volunteers on match day will be prominent in and around the MCG, collecting donations for the Alannah & Foundation.

Richmond’s match day guernsey for the clash includes messages of thanks from children who received a Buddy Bag, which helped give them a sense of safety and comfort when they needed it most.

The guernsey, including Richmond’s famous Yellow and Black and a purple trim for the charity, will be auctioned post-match, with all proceeds going directly to the Alannah & Madeline Foundation.

Fans can also purchase the special themed jumper from the Roar Store.

Every year, around 13,000 Australian children are taken into the care of authorities because they are at serious risk of being hurt and have no safe place to live.

Richmond and the Tiger Army’s fundraising efforts will help to keep these children and young people free from violence and trauma.

Just $50 can help a child in need by providing them with a Buddy Bag that delivers them a teddy bear and basic essentials like a toothbrush and toothpaste, pyjamas, underwear, and socks.

Fans can purchase the Club’s Alannah & Madeline Foundation membership for just $55 or donate to the Foundation; a $35 donation can provide three teddy bears to help comfort and care for children traumatized by violence.

The Alannah & Madeline Foundation has delivered over 120,000 Buddy Bags across Australia.
