Richmond has locked away its playing list for the 2024 AFLW season, with 26 players retained from this year.

Headlining the 26 players set to return to the Club is league best and fairest winner, Monique Conti.

Conti has won an incredible five straight Richmond best and fairest awards and was crowned the AFLW's league best in the eyes of the umpires for the first time, having last year also won the player-voted MVP.

The 24-year-old will return for a sixth season in the yellow and black, as will fellow inaugural AFLW Tigers Katie Brennan, Rebecca Miller, Kate Dempsey, and Gabby Seymour.

Fresh off a second consecutive All-Australian honour and finishing runner-up to Conti in Richmond's AFLW best and fairest, dashing defender Eilish Sheerin has re-signed with the Club.

Consistent midfielder Grace Egan will return to the Swinburne Centre for a third season, while Sarah Hosking has committed to the Club for her fifth campaign.

Young West Australian Charli Wicksteed has also re-signed with the Tigers after an impressive debut season that saw her recognised as the team's best first-year player.

Maddie Shevlin and Poppy Kelly are among the others to have inked fresh deals to remain with the Club, as is Tessa Lavey, who will return from injury in 2024.

Lavey, 30, missed the entire 2023 season with a toe injury but will be back to resume the impressive start she had made to her football career across 25 matches.

Gun youngster Ellie McKenzie will also return from injury in 2024 wearing yellow and black.

Richmond Head of Women's Football, Kate Sheahan, said it was a positive reflection on the program that they could retain the playing list.

"To be able to retain 26 players from last season while bringing in some targets via trade and through the draft is encouraging for us," Sheahan said.

"The group is hungry for more, and the players want to do it together. Their commitment to each other and the Club is a reflection of the foundation they have established for themselves and the program.

“We look forward to seeing what they can achieve in 2024.”
