The squad is in for Richmond's match simulation against Melbourne at Casey Fields on Sunday morning.

Thirty-three AFL Tigers will take part in the seven-period hit-out from 10.00am, in what will be their first clash against an opposition for 2024.

Seventeen VFL-listed players have also been selected to play in the final three intervals.

Promising key defender Josh Gibcus will make his long-awaited return from a hamstring injury, marking the twenty-year-old's first game since the end of 2022.

The Tiger Army will also get their first proper look at forward recruit Jacob Koschitzke in the Yellow and Black, as well as big-bodied midfielder draftee Kane McAuliffe for his first outing at the level.

Missing from Richmond’s team is Dion Prestia (hamstring), Dustin Martin (managed), Tim Taranto (managed), Liam Baker (family reason), Toby Nankervis (managed), Tom Lynch (building match fitness), Jacob Bauer (hamstring) and Liam Fawcett (back). 

Veteran Dylan Grimes, who has returned to the main training group after a calf complaint, has also been managed.

The Tigers will then take on Collingwood in an official practice match, the inaugural Charity Shield, at Ikon Park on Tuesday, February 27 from 6.40pm, with fundraising efforts surrounding the match going towards Foodbank.
