As of June 2024, more than 500 camera traps have been set-up within BTFC, generating hundreds of thousands of photos. Short-term contract staff have been hired to organise and compile these tremendous number of camera trap photos, under close supervision of our officers. The batch of photos from Royal Belum State Park (RBSP) is expected to be sorted with species identification by the end of Q3 2024, and analysis will ensue. Whereas for Temenggor, the data is being organised for identification to be carried out.

Our results indicated that tigers are recorded at 37 or approximately 25% camera trap locations in RBSP, with at least 21 distinctive adults identified. For Temenggor, data checking is still ongoing. At this juncture, at least 8 distinctive adults have been identified. Our data shows a promising number of tigers of at least 29 individuals within RBSP and Temenggor.
