Despite going down in both the AFL and VFL this past round, Serpell takes positives from an “unscathed” playing group after last Thursday’s double-header.

“Definitely not the results we were after, but thankfully we got through the games relatively unscathed,” Serpell said.

“So, from a physical perspective, it was an outcome that we are happy with.”

Judson Clarke made his much-anticipated return to footy, getting through his first hit out in the VFL against Casey since he did his ACL injury in April last year.

“Juddy went really well,” Serpell said.

“He was excited and did some good football things from what I understand.

“The coaches were pretty impressed wherever he went, and we are looking forward to seeing him out there again this week with some increased gametime.”

Samson Ryan: Foot, 1-2 weeks

“We got some scans on Samson Ryan. He is still dealing with a plantar fascia complaint,” Serpell said.

“So hopefully we have him down for one to two weeks from now."

Mykelti Lefau: ACL, 3-5 weeks

“Thankfully, Mykelti has got through a lot of training last week and he is in even better shape now so he will be down for three to five weeks at this point in time,” Serpell said.

Tylar Young: ACL, 4-6 weeks

"Similar to Mykelti, Tylar is progressing really well," Serpell said.

"He has started training this week without a non-contact hat on, so he will have full training the next few weeks, and hopefully he can get a body of work in, and we are confident that he can return to play."

Harry Armstrong: Hamstring, 9-11 weeks

“Harry is out there doing a bit of running now," Serpell said.

“He is enjoying it, and we are getting some good work into him.

“There is an opportunity here to also work on some other football skills, which is awesome. So, he is still 10 weeks away but progressing quite well.”

Dion Prestia: Achilles, TBC

“Dion is progressing similar to last week,” Serpell said.

“No real update on where he is at, but as I said last week, we will have some information out when we can on him.”

Taj Hotton and Josh Gibcus: ACLs, TBC

“Taj and Josh are going in leaps and bounds as well,” Serpell said.

“Taj is progressing well, and hopefully we will have a timeframe on him in the next week or two.

“Josh is progressing as well but again, hopefully in the next week or two, we will have some timeframes on him, so we will see them on the training track doing more footy drills as the weeks progress.”
