Richmond failed to spoil the party of Hawthorn’s centenary game on Sunday afternoon, with the Hawks defeating the Tigers by 65-points, 16.13 (109) to 6.8 (44).

A slow start doomed Richmond as it never recovered after conceding the first five goals of the game.

Two straight goals late in the second quarter from Seth Campbell and Jonty Faull gave the Tigers some hope, but the Hawks quickly responded before the main break to lead by 34-points at half-time.

Campbell’s goal was a highlight, as he applied strong pressure with a chase-down tackle in the middle of the ground and then ran back into the forward 50 to finish the chain with a major.
