Richmond draftee Zoe Hargreaves will unfortunately miss the 2025 AFLW season through injury.

The 18-year-old injured her left knee during a recent voluntary training session with scans subsequently revealing a ruptured ACL.

Hargreaves will require a knee reconstruction, likely ruling her out for around 12 months.

Richmond Executive Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan said it was a tough blow for the impressive teenager.

“We are all so disappointed for Zoe who was eagerly awaiting her first AFLW season and had impressed us all with her talent and dedication since joining the Club in December,” she said.

“Zoe is a great character, and we know, going off the start she has made to her time at Richmond that her rehab journey will be diligent and professional.

“She is still only 18 and has a long career ahead of her, so we will get her knee right and support her to return to play in 2026 and beyond.”

Hargreaves, who was selected with pick No. 20 overall at the 2024 AFLW Draft, will now be placed on the Club’s Inactive List.
