Richmond has signed experienced AFLW defender/wing Lauren Brazzale to its AFLW list for the upcoming season.
Brazzale joins the Club after 73 AFLW games across all nine seasons of the AFLW competition.
The 31-year-old was drafted at selection No. 62 to Carlton in the inaugural AFLW Draft and spent time with Sarah Hosking and Grace Egan in her six years at the Blues.
Brazzale switched to Collingwood ahead of Season 7, where she played 32 of a possible 32 matches in the past three years before being delisted at the conclusion of last season.
The experienced dasher had 18 disposals, and 319 metres gained in Collingwood’s final round clash against Melbourne and 16 touches a fortnight prior against Adelaide.
Richmond AFLW List Manager, Trent Mosbey, said that Brazzale had also made an impressive start to the 2025 VFLW season with Sandringham and as vice-captain for Victoria against South Australia in the Gather Round weekend.
“Lauren’s strength is providing dash and rebound off half back,” Mosbey said.
“She can also penetrate the game with her athleticism, and her accurate kicking can open the game up.
“Lauren has displayed Richmond character traits on and off the field and is highly regarded for her positive, bright energy, leadership, work ethic, professionalism, and strong desire to achieve.
“She is an experienced, versatile player with an elite kick and speed. She plays an eye-catching style that Tigers fans will love to see.
“We are excited to be bringing Lauren to the Swinburne Centre.”
