Tim Taranto and Seth Campbell have been recognised by Adem Yze and Alastair Clarkson for their efforts in Richmond’s narrow defeat to North Melbourne on Sunday.
Taranto polled seven coaches’ votes after he collected a game-high 30 disposals, 10 clearances and five score involvements. It continued a strong run of form for Taranto, who has amassed 26 or more disposals in six of his last seven games.
Campbell’s breakout campaign also rolled on, with the crafty forward booting an equal career-high three goals to go along with 15 disposals, 15 pressure acts and eight score involvements. He earned three coaches’ votes for his impressive performance.
The 20-year-old now has 17 goals from the 10 games he’s played this season, which places him in equal-21st place on the competition’s goalkicking list.
Each week of the season, the two senior coaches vote on the best players in their respective match, giving 5-4-3-2-1. The maximum votes a player can get is 10 votes a week.
The overall league winner at the end of the season will be crowned the AFLCA Champion Player of the Year.
