Richmond has secured selection No. 38 overall in this year’s Telstra AFL Draft following a trade with West Coast today.

In exchange, defender Tylar Young has departed the Club to join the Eagles.

Richmond Executive General Manager, Football Talent, Blair Hartley, said that the Club thanked Young for his contribution.

“We are proud of what Tylar was able to achieve at Richmond after being a mature-aged selection from our VFL program via Frankston and North Albury,” he said.

“This year he worked incredibly hard to come back from an ACL injury and play at the level that he did, we wish him all the best for his new opportunity at West Coast.”

Richmond now holds selections 3, 4 and 38 at the 2025 Telstra AFL Draft.

“We feel like we have put ourselves in a strong position at the front end of the draft, and this additional pick further strengthens our hand for 2025,” Hartley said.

Young played 35 AFL games for Richmond across three seasons after being elevated from the Club’s VFL program, where he spent 2022.
