Richmond is pleased to welcome Punt Road Wines as the Official Wine Partner of the club, bringing together two Victorian stories with deep roots, a community focus, and a strong sense of place.
Punt Road Wines takes its name from the original Airlie Bank vineyard on Melbourne's Punt Road, which was planted in the 1850s, only a short distance from the site that would later become the Club's Swinburne Centre home.
Like Richmond, Punt Road Wines has been shaped by people who have invested in a place for generations, with the Napoleone family farming in the Yarra Valley since 1948.
The third and fourth generations of the family now farm the 58-hectare Coldstream estate, where all Punt Road wines are grown and made.
Led by winemaker Jarrod Johnson, the estate focuses on cool-climate Yarra Valley varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Gamay, producing wines that reflect both heritage and landscape.
Richmond CEO Shane Dunne said it was terrific to start a partnership with Punt Road Wines.
"We see an obvious connection between ourselves and Punt Road Wines and are pleased to have now formed a partnership," he said.
"History is very important to both of us, and Punt Road is both of our homes. We encourage those members of the Tiger Army with an interest in wine to be sure to check out our partners at Punt Road Wines."
Michael Napoleone also welcomed the partnership.
"Our family has farmed in Victoria for generations, so joining with a club whose story has grown alongside ours feels very natural," he said.

In October, Punt Road Wines opened a new cellar door set alongside Meletos restaurant, The Farmhouse accommodation, and Il Massaggio day spa.
