Alger had a sensational start to the VFL campaign last week, kicking five goals and collecting 15 disposals in the win over Southport. VFL coach Jack Madgen said Alger's strong performance "stemmed from his competitiveness in the air, his read-and-react to get forward and his ability to be strong in the contest and burst to space".
Trainor had 16 disposals in the game, with VFL coach Jack Madgen praising his performance.
"Luke had another impressive game down back. His aerial and ball use were stand outs," Madgen said.
"I am loving his decision making - when to spoil and mark. His ability to win the ball on the ground and kickstart our offence was a stand out. His attitude and effort have been great and he continues to show up in our trademark vision."
Gray played as the second ruck in the VFL last week, with Madgen adding his "read-and-react behind the ball enabled us to play a front-half game, his aerial power was great, resulting in four intercept marks and a lot of come-forward spoils".
Faull missed last week's game after receiving a one-game suspension in the Round 1 clash with Carlton.
Trainor, along with Noah Balta, Ben Miller, Sam Banks, Jayden Short, and Nick Vlastuin, have been named in defence.
Hugo Ralphsmith, Sam Lalor and Tyler Sonsie make up the centreline. Gray takes his spot in the ruck, alongside followers Tim Taranto and Dion Prestia.
Seth Campbell, Jack Ross, Maurice Rioli, Faull, Alger and Harry Armstrong make up the forward line.
On the interchange is Mykelti Lefau, Jacob Hopper, Steely Green, Tom Brown and Sam Grlj.
Trezise, Liam Fawcett and Kane McAuliffe are the emergencies.
Richmond's Round 3 match against Fremantle is set for Optus Stadium this Saturday from 4.15pm (AEDT), live on Fox Footy and Kayo Sports.
