She was one of the original marquee signings in the competition’s first season in 2017 and has since remained one of the league’s premier players.

Richmond Head of Women’s Football, Kate Sheahan, said Brennan’s signature made for the perfect start to the Tigers’ list build.

“In Katie we see a wonderful person and a talented footballer who sets elite training standards,” she said.

“We view Katie as one of the best players in the AFLW competition, and we’re excited by her talent, skill and drive to succeed.

“We have done a lot of work through our VFLW program to build a culture that players want to be a part of, and it is fantastic to now add some experience to our ranks.

“We will continue to look at all opportunities to build a strong AFLW list and are incredibly excited about the next couple of weeks.”

“It has been fantastic to meet Katie and I cannot wait to see her and the rest of our future AFLW team playing in the Yellow and Black.”

Brennan, who won the 2017 VFLW league best and fairest and goalkicking, will also play for Richmond at VFLW level.
