Ryan Ferguson provides a summary of how the Tigers’ players performed in last Saturday's Round 9 loss to North Melbourne at Arden Street Oval.

Patrick Naish

28 disposals, two goals, three tackles & five clearances

“Impacted the game on offence, kicked some goals when we really needed them and set-up plenty of others. He was highly influential, he just needs to make sure he keeps being diligent with the defensive side of his game in keeping the pressure on.”

Jack Graham

24 disposals, 10 tackles, 10 handball receives & eight inside-50s

“One of our better players, inside and out (of the contest). Laid a lot of tackles, sent the ball forward inside-50 and gave us some drive.”

Derek Eggmolesse-Smith

22 disposals, three tackles, three clearances & five marks

“Was particularly strong in the air, took some nice contested marks and strong in the contest which was pleasing. Probably wasn’t to his normal standard with his decision making and execution with ball in hand, but that’s normally a strength, so he’ll be okay with that.”

Jacob Townsend

22 disposals, eight marks, five tackles & seven inside-50s

“Was one of our barometers again with his work-rate and aggression and physicality. He didn’t quite finish-off his work in front of goals which he’s normally really good at, but another strong game from ‘Towner’.”

Connor Menadue

21 disposals, six marks, seven inside-50s & three rebound-50s

“Gave us a lot of run off half-back for most of the game and was influential. We sent him into the midfield in the last quarter to see what he could do and he did okay.”

Mav Weller

19 disposals, four marks, two goals & four inside-50s

“Was particularly dangerous early and lively. Played a lot of midfield time, was able to also kick a couple of goals, which added to his game.”

Riley Collier-Dawkins

16 disposals, five tackles, three centre clearances & five clearances

“Was a bull inside and extracted the ball on numerous occasions, but just couldn’t get much outside ball, so he’ll be working on complementing his game in that manner.”

Callum Coleman-Jones

15 disposals, five marks & 10 hit-outs

“Had a solid day without being outstanding. Always looks dangerous in the air though and if he had of plucked a few that he had his hands on, it might have changed his impact.”

Fraser Turner

14 disposals, eight handball receives & three marks

“Didn’t get as much of the ball as he usually does and has been really creative and damaging for us in past weeks. We put him down back just for a little bit of experience which will be good for his growth, in the last quarter.”

Daniel Rioli

12 disposals, seven tackles & two clearances

“Started ‘slowish’ but pleasing to see in the second half he flourished. His tackling, nearly led the team in tackles. His pressure, he actually kick started our revival and got us back into the game, so some really positive signs there.”

Ben Miller

Five disposals, two spoils & one inside-50

“Played back and also forward, we like that he’s got the ability to do this, but he’s still trying to find a way to have more impact on games, be it forward or back.”

Mabior Chol

Five disposals, seven tackles & 14 hit-outs

“Love to see ‘Marbs’ have high tackle numbers and some of his pressure at times was good to see but he just wasn’t able to back-up his outstanding form from last week.

Jacob Ballard

19 disposals, three tackles, five clearances & one goal

“Battled away inside (the contest) and out(side) like he normally does for us. Had plenty of clearances and got the ball going our way.”

Hugh Beasley

15 disposals, five marks, five tackles & six rebound-50s

“Battled away, didn’t always have a perfect match-up, but still found a way to impact the game and as usual, stood-up pretty strong for us down back on a tough day.”

Dan Coffield

15 disposals, four marks & six handball receives

“Again, one of our leaders down back and battled away for much of the game. His aerial impact over the last few weeks has been outstanding and he was strong in the air the thwarted many of their (the Roos’) attacks.”

Blake Grewar

12 disposals, three tackles, three clearances & three inside-50s

“The last few weeks he’s been really complementing others around him and adding to the dynamic of our team, which he did again this week.”

Tom Silvestro

12 disposals, four marks, two goals & three tackles

“Worked really hard between wing and forward roles. Was able to get on the end of a few and kick a couple of goals, which was good for him to impact in that way.”

Shaun Mannagh

Eight disposals, two goals, three marks & two tackles

“Was back closer to his best. Elusive, found the goals a couple of times, which he’s really good at. His goal sense has always been a strength and good to see him more lively this week.”

James Fletcher

Seven disposals, four tackles & three inside-50s

“A bit like ‘Creds’, a frustrating day, tough at time, like his strength over the ball at time, didn’t impact as much as he would have liked.”

Chad Harris

Six disposals, one tackle & three spoils

“Really like his second half and in particular his last quarter when we were up against it and his impact on the game, his aggression and physicality. He certainly think we’ve got a player, with ‘Chaddy’.”

Brenton Credlin

Five disposals, two spoils & two handball receives

“Mixed bag for ‘Creds’, it was a frustrating day for a few of our back, but he’s made of tough stuff so we know that he’ll respond.”

Billy Coates

Five disposals, two marks & two tackles

“Went into the game with quite a sore back but it was good to see he was able to push through that and halve a lot of contests for us and bring the ball to ground so our ground level players could get involved. Didn’t take a lot of marks but was still important to our structure.”

Luke Nelson

Four disposals, two goals & two inside-50s

“Played his first game. It was great to get him in, he’d earnt his chance and provided a bit of excitement with his two goals. He would have enjoyed his time out there.”
