An AFL Level 3 Accredited Coach, he developed his coaching prowess as an assistant coach with Richmond VFL, mentored by coach Craig McRae, and at the Calder Cannons.

Hunter said he was humbled to receive the award.

Three talented Tigers were named in the VFLW Team of the Year, AFLW-listed trio Tayla Stahl, Monique Conti and Rebecca Miller.

Stahl, named in the forward pocket, has enjoyed a meteoric rise in 2019, going from playing local football, to joining Richmond’s VFLW side, to earning an AFLW contract.

The 24-year-old sits in fourth on the league’s leading goalkickers' list, after booting 19 goals across 15 games.

Young gun Conti, who was named on the interchange, produced a terrific first VFLW season as a Tiger.

The onballer averaged 22 disposals, 15 contested possessions, seven clearances and five tackles across seven outings in 2019.

Conti, 19, also finished runner up in the 2019 Lambert-Pearce Medal for the VFLW’s Best and Fairest player

Miller, who was named at centre-half back, made an impact as a key defender in 2019.

At 24 years old and 184cm, Miller averaged 10 disposals, three marks and two tackles per game across 14 appearances this season.
