Richmond small forward Steely Green is no stranger to a sneaky goal, but his latest goal is to continue helping his younger teammates find confidence in the forward line.
With the first half of the season done and dusted, Green has played 12 games, and kicked 12 goals, playing in both of the Club's two wins over West Coast and Essendon.
His focus now turns to continuing his solid form, while supporting those around him.
"[I'm going to] continue the work I've been doing, working alongside [coaches] Chris Newman and Luke Breust. I'm just learning everyday, trying to build my game," Green said.
"I'm trying to help the younger boys as well, because that's helping me too."
Returning after the bye in Round 13, the Tigers now turn their attention to a date in Hobart with Brisbane, who have proven a test in recent years.
For Green, the chance to reset before the huge challenge came at the perfect time.
"We are definitely refreshed. All the boys got away and got into nature. We're ready to smash the back end of the year. Hopefully we can use that energy this weekend," he said.
"We just want to continue moving forward, take each week at a time, learn from our lessons and get better.
"The Lions are a great team. Getting better everyday is our motto, that's what we've got to do. We've got to have fun and try to compete our arse off."
Richmond takes on Brisbane at Ninja Stadium this Sunday from 1.10pm (AEST).
