Monique Conti only knows one way to start the season, and that's with a perfect 10 AFLW Coaches Association votes.
The star midfielder collected 26 disposals, seven clearances, seven tackles and kicked a goal in Saturday night's 18-point victory over Collingwood at IKON Park.
Conti also nabbed eight inside-50s, 12 contested possessions and had six score involvements, starting her season in elite fashion.
Excitingly, the vice-captain is joined by Round 1 Telstra Rising Star nominee Sierra Grieves, who had a stellar game across all fronts, collecting five votes.
The young midfielder collected an impressive 24 disposals, 14 contested possessions, four clearances, 11 kicks, six score involvements and three intercept possessions.
Goal sneak Emelia Yassir picked up three votes, following her goal, 13 disposals, seven tackles and four clearances.
In her 75th AFLW game, veteran and much-loved Tiger Katie Brennan also polled two votes, while Laura McClelland collected one.
Brennan had 14 disposals, seven marks and kicked an emotional goal in the victory, while McClelland stood tall with 16 touches, seven marks and two clearances.
Each week of the season, the two senior AFLW coaches vote on the best players in their respective match, giving 5-4-3-2-1. The maximum votes a player can get is 10 votes a week.
The overall league winner at the end of the season will be crowned the AFLWCA Champion Player of the Year.
