Patrick Retschko and Mykelti Lefau have been recognised for their contributions to Richmond in 2026.
Retschko, who made his debut in Round 6, won the Bill Cosgrove/Harry Jenkins Best First Year Player Award, while Lefau was crowned as the Michael Roach Medallist for being the Club's leading goalkicker.
Retschko played every game after his debut, which saw him handed a Rising Star nomination in Round 11’s Dreamtime at the ‘G win over the Bombers.
In that match, the 20-year-old collected a career-high 27 disposals, 15 kicks and eight marks.
The hard-running winger was acquired by Richmond in a trade with Geelong for the 99th pick in the 2025 AFL Trade Period.
This season, the youngster averaged 18.8 disposals, an above-average 4.9 marks and 11.3 kicks.
He also took a career-best 10 marks against Collingwood in Round 16, while also nabbing 26 disposals. Retschko played in all three of the Club’s wins this season from his 18 games.
Lefau booted 23 goals from his 21 matches, playing his first season injury free following ACL setbacks.
His biggest haul of the year came against GWS in Gather Round, where Lefau booted four majors in the Barossa Valley.
But away from his improved goalkicking, the 28-year-old also had a season average of 2.9 tackles a game, putting him in the elite category at his position.Â
The forward’s defensive pressure inside Richmond’s forward-50 was also impressive this year.
The pair accepted their awards at Tuesday night's Jack Dyer Medal at Crown.
