Richmond’s Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge provides Richmond Media with an update on the injury status of several members of the Tigers’ playing group.
Dylan Grimes, ankle
"'Grimesy' fell and stood on another player’s boot and rolled his ankle (in Round 22). He came back on the ground and finished the game. It was a bit bruised after the game and the next day, plenty of ice and compression for the first 48 hours, and today he’s walking around pretty good. At this stage, he’s a probable for this week and we'd anticipate him doing a little bit of training potentially later in the week. I’d say he’s a really good chance to play on Sunday."

Toby Nankervis, adductor
"At the Carlton game, Toby played his first game back in the AFL after three weeks in the VFL where we gradually progressed his game time carefully...There was a lot of stoppages and it was a little bit wet as well…he noticed late in the game he started to get a little bit sore in that adductor that he previously had injured…We got some scans and he has irritated the scar tissue of the original injury. We thought it would settle fairly quickly but it hasn't, it’s been a bit slower. He’s definitely improved but at this stage he’s unlikely for this week…He’s running at the moment, it’s really the specific ruck contest work that we’ve got to make sure we nail and that he’s strong enough to handle."
Sydney Stack, ankle
"He needed surgery which he had last night…fairly similar to most other syndesmosis injuries that need the surgery...Right now, he’s in a cast which he’ll have on for the next 7-10 days. Once that’s off, we can make an assessment as to how quickly we can push things. Kane Lambert had a similar procedure last year, he played at four weeks, we’ve had other players with the same procedure who have taken a lot longer…It’s very hard to put a timeframe on it at the moment but we’re relatively optimistic."
Trent Cotchin, hamstring
"Trent’s going great. A week and a half ago, Trent resumed training with the group and did a full week of training last week. We initially thought he would potentially play in the West Coast game...but we decided we would give him another week…and that’s purely based on his previous injuries during the year…We expect him to play on Sunday."
