Dustin Martin became the Tigers’ fourth skipper this year, when he filled in against Adelaide at Adelaide Oval last Thursday night.

The team’s three other captains in 2019 have been official skipper Trent Cotchin, co vice-captain Jack Riewoldt and Shane Edwards.

There have been five other times where Richmond has had four captains in the one season – 1968, 1970, 1972, 1990 and 1992.

Here is the list of who captained the Tigers in each of those seasons . . .

1968 – Roger Dean (official captain), Paddy Guinane, Bill Barrot, Michael Patterson.

1970 – Roger Dean (official captain), Bill Barrot, Royce Hart, Kevin Bartlett.

1972 – Royce Hart (official captain), Roger Dean, Kevin Bartlett, Francis Bourke.

1990 – Dale Weightman (official captain), Michael Pickering, Jeff Hogg, David Cloke.

1992 – Dale Weightman (official captain), Jeff Hogg, Tony Free, Matthew Knights.

2019 – Trent Cotchin (official captain), Jack Riewoldt, Shane Edwards, Dustin Martin.
