Richmond has looked within to celebrate and extend its commitment to diversity, launching a new podcast series today, which features players, staff, and members from diverse and multicultural backgrounds.

‘Our Stripes’ is co-hosted by experienced sports presenter, and Richmond Multimedia Executive, Tiffany Cherry and Rana Hussain, Richmond’s Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator and first practising Muslim female to be employed full-time at an AFL Club.

The series fosters and celebrates the rich diversity within Richmond, and includes feature interviews with proud Tiger and Tiwi Islander, Daniel Rioli, Korin Gamadji Institute Program Coordinator and Barkindji woman, Tahlia Biggs, and Richmond’s three players of Baltic decent, Oleg Markov, Noah Balta and Ivan Soldo.

Our Stripes will also delve into the broader diversity of the Richmond community, revealing personal insights from the Club’s wheelchair football team, the LGBTIQ community, members and supporters from local businesses in Richmond, and fans who can recall significant moments in the Club’s rich history.

Launching the series on International Women’s Day, is a feature interview with Club president, Peggy O’Neal – the first and currently only female president in the AFL who shares her journey to Richmond, her upbringing in the US and her views on the Richmond Women’s football program.

Speaking of the podcast, Ms. O’Neal said Our Stripes will strengthen the connection of Tiger fans with some of their favourite people at the Club, as well as introduce new faces and stories.

“This podcast will be of interest to all Richmond fans as the interviews will tell the stories of the wide array of people who work for, play for, and support the Club,” O’Neal said.
