The first day of the 2012 trade period has been completed, with all clubs gathering at Etihad Stadium today for a series of meetings.

As has become the norm for the first day of the AFL’s exchange period, each club had the opportunity to begin discussions on potential trades.

The official trade period runs for three weeks, from today until 2pm on Friday, October 26.

The first ever period of Free Agency, which kicked-off last week, continues until Friday, October 19.

Richmond added two players to its list in the first week of Free Agency, welcoming Adelaide midfielder Chris Knights, and Port Adelaide defender Troy Chaplin.
