Livewire forward Jason Castagna has become just the second-ever Richmond player to wear different guernsey numbers in Tiger premiership teams.

Castagna wore No. 46 as a member of Richmond’s drought-breaking, 2017 premiership side, but was in No. 11 when the Tigers trounced Greater Western Sydney in the 2019 Grand Final.

He changed his number following the 2017 flag triumph, along with close premiership teammate Dan Butler, who went from No. 40 to No. 7.

The only other player to sport a new number after tasting premiership success at Tigerland was ever-reliable defender Merv Keane, who had No. 18 on his back when Richmond crushed Collingwood in the 1980 Grand Final, having previously worn No. 40 as a member of the Tigers’ back-to-back flag sides of 1973-74.
