Richmond's inaugural AFLW squad hit the training track for the first time on Monday night.

The Tiger Army flocked to the Swinburne Centre for the historic occasion, as the players were put through their paces on Punt Road Oval before a photo and signing session with fans.

Key position player Laura McClelland, who was chosen by the Tigers with their second selection (pick 25) in the AFLW Draft, said the team was "ecstatic" to finally run out together in the Yellow and Black.

"We were looking forward to it all week and it was a great way to start the pre-season," she said.

McClelland was impressed with how well the group gelled in their first session.

"It’s like we’ve known each other for years," she said.
