Thomson Dow ahead of the Marsh Series match against Collingwood on Sunday.

Although talented Tiger teenage midfielder Thomson Dow had only extremely limited game time in Sunday’s Marsh Community Series match against Collingwood at Wangaratta, he caught the eye of Richmond coach Damien Hardwick with what he produced during his brief on-field stint.

The Tigers’ first pick (No. 21 overall) in last year’s AFL national draft, showcased his impressive speed from stoppages, vision and slick handball skill throughout the final term of the contest after spending the first three quarters on the interchange bench.

“We were really excited. He had five touches in 20 percent game time and he looked comfortable at the level,” Hardwick said.

“I’d like to think he’d get more game time next week.

“He very much reminds us of a young Shane Edwards. He’s got elite hands, backs himself in, sees things that others don’t.

“We’ve been very, very impressed with how he’s gone about it.”
