Richmond broke its all-time league football record for consecutive wins in the 2020 season-opener against Carlton at the MCG.

The Tigers’ 24-point victory over the Blues took their winning streak to 13, surpassing the 12 in-a-row that was established from Round 11, 1932 to Round 2, 1933.

This record run of wins started in Round 15, 2019, against St Kilda at Marvel Stadium.

Richmond had two longer winning sequences during its VFA era, 14 in-a-row from Round 12, 1905 to Round 4, 1906 and 15 in-a-row from Round 3, 1903 to Round 17, 1903.

The best winning sequence by any club in the VFL/AFL is 23 by Geelong from Round 12, 1952 to Round 13, 1953.
