Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt has described his love of the Club as his motivation behind committing to a new three-year contract.

Riewoldt put pen to paper on a contract extension last week, to remain at Tigerland until at least the end of the 2016 season.

“I’m a massively loyal Richmond person.  I love the Club,” Riewoldt told SEN radio.

“Ever since I walked through the doors seven years ago, I’ve bled Yellow and Black.

“That’s why I think I’m emotional on the field, and I know my emotion off the field can sometimes get the better of me, but that’s just through pure love of the football club.

“I love the workplace, my team-mates and everyone else that’s at the football club.

“I’m rapt to be going around again for another three years, and then hopefully again after that.”

Despite contract negotiations drawing out to the latter stages of the 2013 season, Riewoldt never entertained the thought of playing elsewhere.

“It sort of got thrown around in the media a little bit, that I was fielding for other offers, but ultimately it was just sorting the finer details out,” he said.

"I had no hesitation in signing with the Club.”

Riewoldt, 24, recently became the second player in Tigerland history to kick 50 goals or more in four consecutive seasons.
