Richmond forward Aaron Edwards booted his third bag of goals for the season in Coburg’s Round 4 VFL loss to Box Hill on Saturday.

Edwards kicked five in blustery conditions, to go with his haul of seven in Round 3, and four in Round 1.

He is currently in second place on the VFL goalkicking ladder with 17, one behind Werribee’s Ben Warren.

Coburg led by 32 points at quarter time, and by one point at half time, but Box Hill controlled the second half, kicking seven goals to four in the third term, and the only three goals of the last, to win by 28 points.

The Tigers were led by their Richmond-listed contingent. Matt Dea was outstanding with 27 disposals, Matt Arnot collected 28 touches, kicked a goal and had eight clearances, and rookie Ben Darrou continued his strong form in defence, earning 27 disposals and taking eight marks.

Nathan Foley continued his impressive comeback from Achilles surgery, amassing 28 touches and seven clearances.

The loss was Coburg’s third in-a-row, ahead of a home game against Essendon this Saturday, May 4, at 1.10pm.
