Richmond’s winning score of 4.10 (34) in yesterday’s clash with Sydney at the Gabba was its equal-lowest at AFL/VFL level.

You have to go all the way back to the Tigers’ inaugural season of VFL football in 1908 for the other time they won a game with that extremely low score.

In Round 12 of that season, Richmond 5.4 (34) defeated Fitzroy 4.9 (33) by one point at Brunswick Street Oval.

The Tigers had just two goalkickers that day – Bill Bourke with three and Billy Schmidt, two.

Richmond’s all-time lowest winning score occurred in the VFA competition during the 1906 season when it kicked 3.10 (28) to beat Footscray by one point at the Western Oval.
