Brilliant midfielder Trent Cotchin has become the first player in Richmond’s history to poll 15 votes or more in the Brownlow Medal three seasons in-a-row.
The first-year Tiger captain polled 19 votes in last night’s (Monday’s) Brownlow count, to finish equal ninth behind the winner, Gary Ablett.
That followed his 26 votes in 2012, when he was equal runner-up to Jobe Watson, and the 15 votes he received in 2011.
Only five other Tigers have polled 15 Brownlow votes or more three times all-up – Bill Morris, Roy Wright, Francis Bourke, Kevin Bartlett and Matthew Knights.
