Two-time premiership stars Dylan Grimes and Kane Lambert, along with youngster Jack Ross, will bolster Richmond’s line-up for tomorrow night’s vital clash with Geelong at Metricon Stadium.

The trio replace Thomson Dow, Jack Higgins and Nathan Broad who have been omitted from the side that defeated Fremantle eight days ago.

Lambert (hip soreness) and Grimes (hamstring) have each had two weeks to recover since their last game against West Coast in Round 14, while Ross was the standout performer in the Club's most recent scrimmage match.

Speaking yesterday at his weekly media conference, coach Damien Hardwick said Lambert had trained strongly after a freshen up.

“It was just a management core with Kane, he’s obviously had a hip complaint for a number of weeks and we just thought we would take the opportunity on a shortened break (between the West Coast and Fremantle games) to get him a rest,” he said.

“He (then) had the nine days after, so a really extended break to get that hip right for the remainder of the year.”

Grimes will boost the Tigers’ defence, rejoining fellow key post Noah Balta ahead of a match-up with the in-form Tom Hawkins.

Hardwick said the Tigers would have to work together to combat the Coleman Medal leader.

“Noah is a very exciting prospect for us, he learns a lot from every game he plays and he’s just going to get better,” he said.

“(But) if we are relying on Noah to beat him one out, we are going to be in a little bit of trouble, so we’ve got to make sure we continue to help whoever that player is over the course of the game.”

Higgins, Broad, Riley Collier-Dawkins and Mabior Chol have been named as emergencies.
