Tom Lynch and Nathan Broad will return to Richmond’s side for tomorrow night’s do-or-die semi-final against St Kilda.

Lynch, who will have had 28 days to recover from the hamstring injury he suffered against Geelong in Round 17, will be a welcome addition to the Tigers’ attack. The big forward averaged three goals per game in last season’s finals series, which was the first of his career.

Dual premiership player Broad has earned his first senior call-up since Round 15, after strong scrimmage match form playing a variety of roles including on the wing and as a relief ruck.

Jake Aarts and Mabior Chol have made way for the pair, with both players omitted.

Speaking to the media this week, coach Damien Hardwick said Lynch would be a certain starter.

“He is right to go, he trained strongly today as he has throughout the week. Like we said it was a calculated decision last week (to leave him out), we just thought he might enjoy the extra week of training,” he explained.

Hardwick added that Nankervis would need assistance in the ruck.

“It is important for Nank to have a second ruck to go with,” he said.

“I think as we saw last week with the humidity in the game and Nank being required to play 80 per cent and some time forward it’s probably a little bit too much for him.

‘We will look at something a little bit different for this game.”

Oleg Markov, Josh Caddy, Chol and Aarts have been named as emergencies.
